KA running lean

I've checked all sensors, timing and the tune. If anything it should be running rich but its leaning out to the point where i can feel it stall. Any ideas?

is it runnin lean at idle? or when you go WOT?..if its the latter..then you can fix it easyer..the issue might be your fuel pump at higher rpm ranges ...you can ither get a larger flow pump and replace what ya have..or add a helper pump inline to help maintain flow...if your issue is at idle to wide open throttle..then you have a few things it could be...pump,regulator,injectors and vacume...you dont want to run lean..ever...till you can track down the issue..you need to add some Octane boost in your fuel tank to prevent detonation and engine damage...hope this puts ya on the rite track man..keep us posted on what ya find.

i ve got the safc up to 15 across to prevent anything that makes it run in the safe margin but i ve never had to go that high before. and it leans a bit in both. i replaced the fuel filter and found when i turned it upside down black gas came out. so i am thinkin that messed up my injectors. i have another set i ll put in to see if it helps. i m 99% sure its not vacuum as the only two lines i have left are brake booster and fpr but i will double check.

wow bro...if your at high end on the safeC...id check sumpin out..bare with me..im no electronic engineer...#1.) test the fuel pump before wasting your time doing this.

#2.) you need to figure out how many amp's your using up when your running your car...to see if your altinator is able to keep up with your demands...some folks add high apm sterio's and dont upgrade there altinators to compensate for it...just think about what ya have in the car that could be using power..and add up there amp reqierments and then check to see what your altinator puts out..hope this gives ya another avenue to look at for your issue..and another way of thinking.

i m checking the injectors now and i ll move on back to the fuel pump too while i am at it. i dont have a stereo lol i only have two speakers anyway the only thing pulling power would be the msd.

msd wont pull that much power from ya...now that you mention it..since you have an msd system..you will burn gas more compleatly...you might wana switch to super to fix the lean detonation issue...it may just be a matter of octain...try that..see how she runs with it.

ok so i always run 93 anyways and after putting in a set of sr injectors its still leaning. the only other possibility is the pump right?

ok so i changed the ecu and the lean went away but now she dies when coming to a stop. fix one and another pops up

so it was your ecu..like the injector block...now since you changed that..before the change..did you mess with the timing or fuel pressure?..you may need to ajust idle now too..but backtrace anything you may have ajusted and check that out.

yeah i put in the injectors but they re set to -27 so it cant be them. the ecu is auto. i made a post asking about it but you can probably tell me LC. does it make a difference? other than the speed limiter?
