alright ive made my decision, i want to build a ka24de that can handle 350+hp thhe plan is to buy a cheap ka and build it up n/a because my ka-e is on the verge of dieing and want to spend about 3k for engine trans and all the parts, then eventually boost it. but im not sure what compression ratio for the pistons to go with 10.5:1 or 9:1 ive done a little research and i know the 10.5:1 is better for quicker spool but would it mess up timing or anything else or which would be easier to install

Boosting a 10.5 C/R motor isn't gonna be fun...

From a tuning aspect yes higher compression will spool a turbo faster but that will require race gas to prevent detonation. Go n/a or go boosted. Can't really have the best of both worlds.

if you plan on running it n/a and then boosting later you will find the 9.1 wont need any changes to run it from the stock ecu/injectors. if you change the compression and try to run it n/a with the stock setup it will have too much timing and not enough fuel. keep the stockish compression and save the tuning for when you go PSSHHHH!
