Okay, this summer I took a stock ka and put a gt2871r@16psi on it. Ran it for 10k miles all hard, mostly track miles, or going to the track etc.

blew the rings up two weeks ago.

Now i can't build this as amazing as i want. But I want to get ka guys opinions on what i need to do. I'm not really looking for more hp, but more reliable hp at where i'm at right now.

I'm thinking keep my stock pistons, eagle rods, balanced crank, new baring and rings, dual s13 exhaust cams(mines an s14 ka so its got the s***ty cams).

Should that be pretty reliable for a drift only car for more then about 2 years of tracking every other weekend? what other things should i look out for, or should i forget about the rods, I haven't decided yet.

How much does it cost to balance a crank at a machine shop btw? thank you

Yeah since your doing rods you might as well go ahead and do pistons too for security. . . instead of wondering if your gonna f*** up a piston.

Rods are good to like 350 whp. Pistons...not so much. I'd get pistons before I got rods.

New bearings, new rings because they are new pistons...duh.

Camshafts are irrelevant to your want for reliability but sure, go ahead and do it.

Get an ATI harmonic balancer crank damper thing. Still have your machine shop balance your crank, but since it's just a half-counterweighted crank there is only so much they can do. The balancer will make entire bottom end last longer.
