Hey Iv'e got the sr20de distributor with the sr20de plug wires but they aren't the right lengths since the distibutor on the sr20de comes off of the front of the head but they have always worked fine. Iv'e never upgraded them there for they suck azz. I found some before but never bought them and now I cant seem to find them again. My number 1 and 2 are a little tight. Does anyone remember where they got theres as I know some of ya'll run the same setup as I do? Its the JWT ecu ka harness with ka coil, sr20de distributor/plugwires. I'm looking for the 8.5s.

um, what? wrong forum or you need to be a bit more specific 'cause this has nothing to do with SR20DET. Or are you talking about converting the SR20DET to distributor ignition? I'm confused.

Ok surely I would have thought most sr owners would know but I guess not to many people run the set up I have. Its an sr s13 with an sr20de distibutor, ka coil and all four plug wires got to the distributor. If you were looking at it, it would look like a ka setup. Im actually using the se-r plug wires but the problem is on the se-r the distributor sits different on the head and the plug wires dont have any slack going from the distributor to the numero 1 and 2 plugs. They reach just not very good. There are plug wires for my application I just dont know where and I dont want to have to custom order and pay out the azz. Does this make more sense?

I'm not so sure whats so difficult about understanding this. I was about to do that because my CAS was broken when I got my motor, but I just decided to install a new CAS. I've heard that JWT can do this setup.

Have you tried the KA wires? I'd start there. The lengths should be near the same.

If you want to upgrade the ignition system, it's arguably easier to do so with a distributor setup. I know the distributorless system is more powerful if they are both stock, but if you were to upgrade to an icepack or msd system, then that's a diff story.

Yes, I know that they have upgrades for the SR ignition system too.

Ooh okay, cool. I wasn't sure if that's what you were talking about or not. How do upgrading the coil pack or switching to a distrubutor compare bang for buck?

MojoMan has that JWT setup that most people frown upon.

It's a remapped KA ECU, an SR20DE distributor and spark plug wires. He doesn't have the coilpacks like most swaps these days will have.

quicksilvia, I like that phrase "misinformed misunderstanding." It's like a double whammy. I may use that from time to time.:D

Yeah, I got what he has, so, "How do upgrading the coil pack or switching to a distrubutor compare bang for buck?"

WOW........some of you guys just learned something new. We learn something new everyday, now dont we? I haven't checked this since earlier yesterday evening and never expected this kinda response. Still never got my answer though. Charlotte240, the ka wires are to tall and stick up outta the head. The ones I have fit perfectly on top of the head. The wires 1 & 2 are just barely long enough. I do run an MSD 6a with the blaster coil so spark is no problem. But when you have this kinda ignition setup you need real good plugwires as the oem plugwires bleed my spark off and causes it to be a much weaker spark by the time it gets to the plug. I have had this set up and my SR for over 3 and a half years, which is longer than most of you have so when my swap was done....whew...you wanna talk about the lack of parts availability?.......They were far and few between. And the fact that I was stranded in SoCal on vacation I had to haveit done fast. One interesting fact most of you did not know is that the factory KA ecu works with this setup and will drive quite a ways. I didnt have time to get my JWT ecu driving back through El Cajon leaving L.A. and going down through San Diego so I drove back on the stock ka ecu with an afc. Quick, Thanks for the genius comment, Realy appreciate it when people recognize my brilliance.:) And Touchdown038, know what the Fu(k your talkin about before posting something like this--Quote by touchdown038:Yeah wtf are you talking about? The SR is distributorless ignition (from what I've heard )-- This is classic material of a Dumbazz. There is an application wether it ba an eclipse or whatever there is a car that uses the same length as I need and that is what Im trying to figure out. I need some 8.5 mm wires. Are we all on the same page now??? Good.:D
