Will a 96 KA24de head bolt right up to a 91 KA24de block? I need to know because I might be buying a 91 KA motor and rebuilding the bottom end. And rather than swapping out intake manifolds and exhaust manifold I would like to keep my 96head. So will the 91 block and 96 head mate up?

I would keep the 91 head on there for the better cams and the manifolds bolt on to either engine just fine. I just finished swapping a 96 engine into my 92 and the manifolds fit fine.

it'll be the same except for a small panel that goes on the back of the head(which holds some....i think vacuum lines), but you can put it on the head still.

and the valve cover gasket is not the same on the back(1 has a bolt on the middle between the last 2 bolts at the back of the head, 1 doesn't).

the rest is ok as far as i know.(did a swap from a 95 ka to a 93 ka with the 93 cams)

can't forget that the s14 has an internal coil, and s13 has an external coil. gotta make sure to take care of that wiring
