My KA is overheating and leaking coolant. My radiator blew about a month ago and just I got a new radiator and put it in. Now, when I drive my car it overheats within 5 mins of being driven. If i turn the car on and let it sit my car doesn't overheat. My dash meter goes up to H really fast and once it hits H it starts leaking coolant where my starter is.

Please any advice, suggestions...

The coolant has to be coming from the heater core hoses that run under the intake manifold. Try and get a pressure tester. Are you running a clutch fan or electric?

Make sure you have the fan set as a pull not a push.

fill the car up, start it, let it leak. the take a flashlight...get it there and look fo the leak. as for the fan sound like you do hav it rotating backwards. while stopped its efficiant enough to keep ya kooled, when you start moving it is fighting the air comming into the rad insted of helping it through. then again if its leaking and your low on fluid, it doesnt matter which way the fan is going your gonna overheat. get the leak fixed, burp the system, and let me know if ya still have the over heat prob

I just went through this with my KA, same 5 minute heat up issues. I know it's a little detail, and besides the fact you are leaking fluid...get that fixed; don't forget about your radiator cap. I spent 160 on a full professional flush and installed a new thermostat along with wiring in a relay so my fan always runs (temporary fix) took it from the shop and ten minutes down the road over heating. Got the new cap from NAPA auto parts, problem fixed. For all I know it could have been the cap the whole time. Good luck!
