im thinking about a KA24DET insted of an SR20DET because i think i can get a ka out of the junkyard and rebuild it with all forged parts and get the head ported for about the same price as buying an sr20 and install kit what do you think?

If you are planning on a crazy project car then either would be fine. BUt since u ask on the ka forum, then of course we would say KA. There are many people out there that know nothing about the ka's and assume they are not capable of producing a lot of power while being reliable at the same time. i say ka-t!!

Hey Welcome to Nico friend. Im gonna lock this thread cause it will turn into a flame war sooner or later. To answer your questions both are great engines.

I would suggest reading the KA sticky on top of this forum, then going to the SR forum and reading their stickies and then make your choice.

Either way you chose if you do things right you wont be disappointed.
