KA needs help

i have a 93 240sx with 110,000 miles. it misfires alot and the revs dip way down when i push in the clutch coming up to a stop sign. somtimes the car actually dies coming to a stop. the car surges a little and just doesnt have near the horsepower it did when i first bought it. there is not a check engine light on. i have put on plug wires, plugs, fuel filter, air filter, o2 sensor, coil, cap but not rotor button until tuesday, cleaned AIV valve, and ran fuel system cleaner in it several times. i did have a couple vacuum leaks but i fixed them over the weekend. i cant think of anything else to replace and need help.

Check the coolant temp sensor for corrotion.

I had the same prob.. On 91....w/ 89,000...It was the temp sensor..

Also check and test your IACV/AACV Idle Air Control Valve/ Auxilary Air Control Valve. Those go bad a lot and can make for a poor idle and a rough engine off idle. Also check the EGR valve to make sure it's not stuck in the open position. That will cause a very rough idle.

i have messed around with my temp sensor when i installed a resistor i bought off of ebay that was suppose to increase horsepower. but that was a rip off because it flooded my car out so it would die and wouldnt start. i had these problems before i installed this piece. the MAF sensor i tried using a friends MAF sensor and still had the same problem. he has a 92 240sx. i'm not too sure about the valves your talking about.

just take off every valve that has to do with ur intake and clean it with air intake system cleaner (cleans throttle bodies, etc..) or if you dont have that... use carb cleaner...

spray some into ur throttle body (you might have to spray in thru the intake right above the filter since if your car is anythign like mine... it wont run well without the MAF

your car will sound like its going to die... but it helps clean your engine out...

coolant temp sensor.. PCV valve ... O2 sensor... check those too

there is a thread just below stating the location of those 3 items i believe

where can you purchase the coolant temp sensor pcv valve and o2 sensor??i kno for sure u can purchase the o2 from PDM but they also dont have coolant tempsensor nor pcv valve..
