I am going to get a ca18det pretty soon and I don't have TOO MUCH money. So I wanted to no more about bolting the ca up the ka24de mounts. I no you can do it but some where on here I read that your motor will sit at a slight tilt. Is this true, and will it damage my motor is some way?

You can use the KA mounts but the motor/trans will not sit right. When I had KA mounts my transmission x-member wouldn't line up. You'd be better off buying the Nismo CA mounts. Check the sticky at the top of the page for part numbers.

So pretty much no matter what your transmission is going to sit at a angle? That doesn't seem to healthy.

with the right mounts it won't sit at an angle. the engine will sit 'at an angle' but that's how it's supposed to be.

Not to keep on with this but, would those "right" motor mounts be the CA cusco mounts?

AFAIK the only "right" mounts are the Nismo ones.

CA motor mounts, whether cusco or nismo or w/e, are the 'right' ones. Not KA/SR.

Your choice of cusco, nismo, etc would be more based on cost and/or performance (stiffness).

I'm using the NISMO mounts myself..

well I found some nismo mounts for 160 bucks and I am thinking about ordering them. So if you could tell me a little about yours? Like how does your transmission sit ? Also I no some mounts hold the motor TOO well causing the car to shake, non of that goes on right?

my shifter is a tad off perfectly straight, but not really noticible. might be just stuck that way after putting it in with KA/SR mounts at first instead of the proper CA ones. (transmission mount is the same, might have just gotten it perma-twisted) It was WAY leaning over like that, almost running the shifter into the shifter bezel.
