KA manual transmission question

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

will an s14 ka24de 5spd transmission work with a ka24e?

excuse the stupid question but im not too familier with the ka

Yes- they are all the same- SOHC, DOHC, and SR. I believe there starts to be some differences when you get to the S-15 engines though. All the KA's are the same though.

KA24X or SR20DET use same transmission ?

Does that mean that if you got a clutch and flywheel for an SR, it could be used in a KA24x?

What he means is the guts are the same set up but due to different bell housings they won't bolt up (KA to SR) vice versa but the (KA24E to KA24DE) will, the splines on an SR are different. As far as an S15 the transmission is longer because it is a 6 speed which means the driveshaft is shorter.

Now im guessing form what i just read that this will work...but i can take my 93 ka24de transmission and bolt it up to a 90 ka24e i am getting? reson being the clutch is bad on the e and my de is dead so that would make more sense to do that and not buy a new clutch

Yes, there may be a wiring differenc of one wire, but the transmission will bolt up like it was meant to be.
