Short story, just bought my project car.

Has a KADE with 113k with a importautoperformance stage 1 turbo kit. (dosnt matter im swapping in a V8 but worth asking. )

Numbers were something like 180 170 90 180.

Car has been sitting alot over the last 2.5 years. ( he works for months at a time as a boat captian and this is his secondary car) Owner says it dosnt leak or burn oil. Car is 4 hours away and im driving it back this week. If i turned the boost down all the way.

Think it could be alright? Just need it to last to bring me home and on the fence about getting a uhaul for the way home.

I fried 3 pistons in an sr a couple years ago,(90-120 compression readings on the 3 fried cylinders) and drove the hell out of the car for another 2 months before I finally swapped in another short block. As long as it isn't knocking and it is full of oil(make sure that it is oil and not mostly gas) it should be fine, just be easy on it until you get it close to home.

Ive rebuilt and built KA's and Never once ever had a problem with low compression.. Guess ive been lucky these last 7 years haha.

Planning on bringing a MBC and turning the boost all the way down and babying it home. Once home ill see whats going on etc. I'll report back when i get it. Hopefully the readings were wrong and or theres nothing wrong.

Remember, turbos don't really do anything without loading the engine, so keep your right foot from pushing the loud pedal to hard and you will never make more than 1-2 psi. Also, a boost controller won't let you run less then what the waste gate is set to run, so just remove the boost controller and hook the waste gate directly to the boost source.(usually on the compressor housing or the hot pipe)
