OK ,so heres the story, when I start to rev my car the engine nocks a little and then the noise goes away it only does it some times and then youwill not hear any nock noise coming from the engine. ok the only thing I did was changed from 10w/40 dino oil to 10w/30 mobil 1 not synthetic and I started using 89 octane gas I used to use 93 octane before this problem started.so do you guys think I may have a bent valve or what could cause my engine to nock in that way ??

btw I have a 95 obd 1 zenki do you guys think the head of a 91 240sx could bolt on to my 240sx .

and am going to change back to 10w/40 and 93cotane tomorow to see if the nock goes away..

any ideas guys??

Are you sure its knocking and not ticking/rattling? I know my SOHC's timing chain rattles like a bish for a few seconds after cold start, but it's normal until the oil is pumped to the head. I don't think DE's should do that though, but it still could one of the guides broke off or the tensioner is going bad.

And yes a 91 ka will work in a 95, but you prob have to use the s14 intake manifolds and some other things...not sure on that though...

i had a knocking noise in my KA24e as well. it was a knocking/ rattling noise. My UD pulley wobbled a lot while it ran, too. When i pulled the oil pan off i discovered a beraing shiled all twisted, and lots of metal particles. Turns out the front bearing went out and the shield got chewed up

Lowering your octane can cause the knocking....i know that cuz my old Lancer GSR use to have bad knocking until i upped the octane.
