KA injector removal?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

The cross point screws are tough but the vise grips helped. then how do you get the red plastic out, is that the part I need to clean? is it just held in with an O ring I broke one trying to remove it.

Oh, the Pop mechanics CD says I have to remove the fuel pressure, then the fuel lines and rail? damn...

yes first relive fuel pressure, then take off those caps, u can use a flathead screwdriver under the plug to loosen it if thats not enough gently taek some pliers to it. there should be no need to remove the entire rail

you can relieve quite a bit of pressure by removing the gas cap :)

pulling injectors is pretty easy. theres no trick, its very straight forward. id suggest pulling the fuel rail off totally tho.
