KA in a 1987 Mazda RX-7 Base Model

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Ok i got an extra KA24DE motor wheni bought my 91 240sx fastback. i will soo me getting a 1987 Base Model Mazda RX-7 minus the engine and tranni so i was thinking the extra cross members like in a vert FC remove the real glass biuld a rear wall and window to make a little utility truck out of the little thing.

so i was wondering if anyone has any info that mmight help yes i searched. help will be appriciated and i am planning on doing this cause otherwise its a waist of a perfectly good KA and FC.

getting the motor in the car won't be hard. just fab up some motor mounts etc and get it done. getting everything to work including creator comforts is going to be the pain. the ka has an upper and lower wiring harness, but you know this, i hope! the Fc has a main engine harness and a front harness which has you altenator, starter, on it as well as all the other little things that make your car go vroom. in all honestly, if you want a work truck, go buy one, they are not that exspensive, the rx7's are getting rare enough, and even rarer to find with 13b's.

nah not a real work truck but somtyhing that would be fun to have FYI this car would be suffering the lesser of 2 evils. the other fate would be rusting away at my uncles after i riped the parts for the 5spd conversion out of it. this one has had rear quarter damage and a sunroof put in it so its not in best condition. now their is a guy who is going to crush a 87 RX-7 that only needs a new front fender and right headlight. hell the paint on it is still awsome.
