I took my head off my Ka motor and found that the only coolant passage ways are only around cylinder # 4 is that supposed to be like that? Resently I posted a problem I was having with my engine overheating and when I took the head off there were only four coolant passage ways and on the other cylinders the passage ways were not cut out, but closely looking at the head gasket you could see that the gasket was breaking apart. Also I was burning white smoke.

Not a KA owner, but I would bet there are coolant passages around each cylinder. If youre saying the head AND block has coolant passages around each cylinder, but the gasket doesnt, I think you got a defective gasket (or maybe for a SOHC).If your motor was trying to pump coolant thru these passages, it would explain the HG damage and white smoke. I think it would also kill your water pump too.
