My car under any throttle positions has power surges that can be felt. It normally occurs at 4k and 6k. Also when i put it in neutral to slow down it idles funky, anywhere from 500 to 1000. Also sometimes when i start it stalls but is fine after i restart it. Ive takin all the emissions stuff off and only have vacuum lines for fpr, iacv, and the brake master cylinder. It also has a wiring harness for an automatic if that matters.(Its a 5sp) I've tried a different maf, got a new O2 sensor and coolant temp sensor and a different ecu and it still does it. Any suggestions? Oh i have also done the dual exhaust cam setup.

that can be a symptom of your ignition coil going out, you should check that.

Had the same type of problem happen to a truck at work. The idle would jump wildly up from about 500 to 1500 when standing at a stoplight and die every once in a while. Turned out it had a bad ignition coil.

I've a 1991 Maxima. I'm taking off the air intake manifold. Have the 4 allen head bolts out, and the 4 stud nuts removed, and even the heat sensors (2) housing (PSide). What is the trick to getting the manifold to release from the heads?! I'm really stuck, Help!?:-) Terry
