KA Gasket Set breakdown

Just wondering if someone could help me out, as I don't know what exactly some of the gaskets/rings are for in this gasket set. By the way it is for sohc ka24e engine:



I labeled what I knew (or think I know what they are) but I'm not sure where the other stuff go or used for, like the metal ring thing, and a lot of the o-rings.

And for the main oil seals, the smaller one that goes in the front timing cover, why are there two of those in the set?

Also is there any gasket I'm missing that SHOULD be there?

the one inbetween water inlet and TB is for the IAA unit. that's one off the list. didnt you take note as to where every thing went when dissasembled?

Actually putting this block together from scratch, it was never complete to begin with

I figured out the 2 weird looking ones under the oil pump one are for the front timing cover, but what is the o-ring next to those two, and the oil pump looking one next to the oil pump (maybe for the pickup truck or stanza oil pump or something?)

Also all those rubber and metal o-rings under the half-moon seals, those are the ones im most worried about, do i need those and where do they go?

Hmmmm you think one of those o-rings could be for the distributor? What else has o-rings....especially a metal one

oh yea, is there supposed to be an o-ring for the pick-up tube going in the oil pan?

yes to oil pick up o-ring thing just messen' with ya in the earlyer post.. maybe some of the metal gaskets might go to water pump stuff

I pretty much got the whole front side on, front cover and timing stuff, only seals or gaskets there is the front main oil seal. water pump is mounted on the front cover with liquid gasket, according to fsm. metal ring and the red and other big ring has got me though.... cant find that stuff in fsm.

im starting to think those bigger rings and metal one arent used in the 240sx, especially since they are included in the "head gasket set" and not used in the lower block, just in the head and manifold stuff.

by the way, why would they include 2 front oil seals?

the 2 metal rings go on the exhaust 2 - 1 pipe where it bolts up to your mani

wait a sec... my set only has one metal ring... does that one go on the downpipe-to-exhaust flange?

to be honest i posted the wrong pic... this one is the *actual* set i have

maybe, i cant remember but i do know that there are 2 metal rings that go with the 2 - 1 pipe gasket

think i might have found another o-ring on one of the components on the intake manifold
