ok everyone heres the deal.... my car is a 90 240 with 185k mi. runs good, but has a blown headgasket, and had noisy lifters, so i decide to buy a head from a friend. i take the head to the machine shop and get it shaved on a broach, get three new valves, 3angle , hot-tanked and magna-fluxed. all that for $125.. im pretty sure that a good price. so while im waiting for the head to get back the lifter noise goes away. what the hell? i just paid 150 for the head plus 125 for the machine work and i just bought a fel-pro (multi-layer steel) head set for 85. ive always planed to turbo my motor but i was wondering if my "new" head will fit any other nissan blocks ( L-series , Zseries) so i dont have down time while changing the head. i plan on doing a port-n-polish job myself but was wondering if any one had tips on how this is done, should i just trace the gasket then start porting or what..... pictures would be wonderful.. plus i would like to know if anyone has the prices for the (pistons, rods, crank...etc) of all the possible blocks that the ka-e head will fit..... any response is appreciated thanks

I think its specific only to the ka. With all the machine work done to it, you might as well pullit apart and put it on the other motor. If the car has a blown headgasket, your gonna want to anyhow.
