According to biosehnsucht and this link:zerothread?id=241331the KA E MAFS is not a direct replacement to the CA MAFS.

Ive got a KA E MAFS in my car, and an SAFC that was not hooked up, but i searched and found that the settings for the KA are 5 in 5 out under hotwire, and for the CA they are 7 in 7out, in theory with a KA MAFS on a stock CA ECU the hotwire settings should be 5 in 7 out, in theory this should make the KA MAFS work good on a CA ecu.Much like a z32 mafs would be 2 in 7 out on a CA ecu.so i went outside and tried it, car runs, but it runs diffrent depending on thisSens. Cal its the next setting after the Sens. No setting

Sens. CalIN OUT1 1 at idle car dies on this setting 1 1/2 runs ok here but the idle seems a bit high2 Add runs like poop here, but the z32 MAFS settings call for this2 Ave runs ok, bit stumbly here and there but doable, and throttle response seems sluggish.

my wideband isint hooked up, so i cant tell afr's

does anyone know what the settings are supposed to be in the last menu^?

i figure if i can make this work that would help others with the KA MAFS issues by tricking the computer to read it like a CA MAFS?

is this viable or just wishfull thinking

also the forum i got the KA mafs no from said that both the single cam and dual cam mafs are the same for the KA which seems to be really wrong given that a KA DE mafs will not work on our cars?http://www.ka-t.org/forums/vie...rt=70anyone

BTW all imput is appreciated exept for those that say the SAFC should not be used for tuning, i know it shouldent, im trying to find a solution to the MAFS and funny running issues so many of us are having.thnx all

Sounds plausible IF the KA24E is really a '5'. If it's not (since I'm positive E and DE MAFs are different) then you'd have to find the right setting, if there is one. The other option is to get your ECU reprogrammed accordingly, but if those are the relevant settings for the SAFC that should work, I'd think.

the KAe and KADE mafs are most DEF different

not to be a pain, but are you sure the KAe is wired properly? lots have had issues with the KAes(specially cooking ECUs) because they didnt wire it right.

i might have to agree with you all, the car runs ok, but it runs considerably better with no manipulation by the safc, so i dont think ive gots the right codes for a KA E mafs,

this idea might of died,

all my stuff is wired ugly, but its wired right. car runs damn near awseome, xept for stumbling at 0 psi and like 3000 rpm and cold start, it was just wishfull thinking i guess

if i, or anyone else find sumptin that works update this thread

thanx,

KA-E maf is not listed in the safc2 manual. You could look and see what is listed for 5, maybe it's something completely different and you can rule out that it is for the KA.

Also get that wide band hooked up!
