the car has no power anywhere with a good battery hooked up. I did make the negative lead, it just goes to chassis and then another cable goes to the block. reads 0 ohms resistance between negative terminal and the block. I tried searching around and found heavy throttle's guide pretty useless. Couldn't find half of the wires they were talking about. This is what I found when I got to the fuse box...

On the grey 8 pin connector (1 empty) the colors were all the same but some were not in the correct spot, so I spliced them. They were...yellow /black stripeyellow /blue stripegreen / yellow stripegreen /white stripegreen / blue stripewhite /red stripe Theres one grey two pin connector that doesn't fit anywhere, it has a black and a white wire. Anything need to be done with this?

Also a 4 pin grey connector underneath the fuse box that doesn't match up to anything on the CA harness side, no idea what this is for but it got chopped off when the KA was coming out. its got 4 wires coming out... solid blacksolid redred / green stripeyellow / grey stripe

Theres also two large grey two pin connectors with bigger wires I assumed they were for the starter and alternator so I just plugged them in and left them since the wires matched up.

Ok I've narrowed the question down now and I'll make this as simple as possible... the two big connectors that go into the fuse box, both of them have two pins, one white wire, and one black wire with yellow stripe. NEITHER of these are getting power! when I give them power directly from the battery cable, everything works just like it's supposed to. So my question is, how are these two larger lines supposed to get power? My main battery cable simply makes a b-line to the starter how are these two supposed to be connected in?

first of all, just to get it out of the way: have you checked all fuese in the engine bay and in the driver's side kick panel, AND checked relays for operation?

secondly, if you search (probably need to search archived threads) there should be a few good threads on this.. I'm pretty sure I posted how I hooked up mine at some point (CA in '89 body).

Most of the wires on those plugs match up but some need re-arranging.

Sorry I tried searching your previous posts and didnt find anything. Everything works when I jump directly to the black two pin connector(with exception of the headlights?) . The root of all these problems is that there is no power getting to the positive (white IIRC) wire on THAT connector... The FSM says that it should draw directly from the battery, am I missing a terminal connection or something, I'm about to just wire from positive to that cable, because everything works just as it's supposed to when it gets power. My wiring is correct, fuel pump and everything else work as there supposed to when the fuse box gets power. Theres no blown fuses anywhere that I can find...

I'd assume that a CA would be more convenient in a 89-90, like the SR is more convenient in a 91-94.

Hrm I can't find my post either, maybe I never did.. I may have to dig that up, I still ahve it all written down someplace.

On my 89 I only had to re-arrange 2 or 3 connections on the 8 pin connectors, I think everything else worked. I just disassembled those and moved the pins, although I think one I might have had to splice to something on one side or the other..

If you have the 240sx FSM for your car, compare to the CA FSM.. looking at the diagrams at the back of the FSMs, look for those connectors and look at what's the same / different.

I'll try to find my info tomarrow.

quick question... on your car or anyone elses s13 is there just a single 4 gauge wire coming off the positive terminal or is there another wire attached to the side? That 4 gauge wire on mine just goes straight to the starter, doesnt do anything else.
