is it common for steel lightweight flywheel to produce a vibration in the driveline only upon downshifting at about 2900 to 2500 rpm ?

What do you mean with a vibration? around the transmission area by the shifter?

its it kind of a grinding noise when you are going fairly fast in either 3rd or 4th gear? or is it a constant thing at 2500 rpms?

I installed a fidanza flywheel on my ka and it makes some kind of a grinding-ish noise when in 3rd or 4th, going fairly fast, and not pushing on the gas. Took it to a nissan/infinity specialist and he said it was my main bearing (transmission) and that it shouldnt be a problem. to switch to a thicker gear oil. also, I cant even hear it anymore since I sealed up the shifter area.

can you take a video or something?

the best way i can describe it is that its kinda like a bench grinder winding down only does it when you back off the gas from about 2900 rpms it goes away at about 2500 you can feel it in the floor,it dosent do out of gear. transmission and motor mounts are good it seems like i picked it up after installing a new clutch and flywheel.it doesnt seem to affect the shifter
