i have done a search and they all seem to mention the SOHC alternator and not the KA DOHC.

anybody try replacing there RB25 alternator with a ka dohc one? is the process the same as with a sohc one? (dremel the bracket)

ok, since no one replied i guess no one has tried... except for me. And i strongly advice that no one else try it either.

the KA dohc alternator is pretty off from that of the rb. if that is all you got then you will either have to swap housings of the alternators or dremel away alot of both holes of the bracket.

my friend persuaded me into swaping housing for the alternators. now I have a frankenstein alternator and i'm not even sure if it's gonna work! haha!

If the housing swap works, could you potentially swap housings with an altenator that puts out more volts? That way your headlights wont dim when the fans come on.

A housing for an alternator that can handle more current would almost certainly be larger (it has larger gauge wire in the windings).

However, it is sometimes possible to get a local motor shop to re-wind it with marginally larger gauge windings.

Yes definately post back and tell us how it worked! My RB alt was crushed...long story but I might be able to do that if yours works.
