KA Cutting out Under Full Throttle

I dont know if this has been posted before and Ive searched but the search doesnt like specific wording.

I have two friends cars doing this and I dont have any ideas of what they could be.

We have replaced MAFECUTPSHarnessDistributorChecked all pipes for leaks

The car will rev all the way to red line in N or under load @ 50% throttle or less but if you go over 60-70% throttle the car cuts out horribly and stutters like a 2 step.

This has to be some what common if two of my friends cars are doing the exact same thing.

go outisde while its dark, turn the car on, leave the lights off, open the hood, and stare at your engine for a while. Now let your eyes adjust, see if you can spot any little flashes of light goin off around the plug wires.

Easier than that, just get a spray bottle full of water and wet down the wires, and drive it again, if it's the wires the motor will stumble hard.

yea... but my method doesnt include driving the car you can do it form home lol. Ive recently bought 2 sets of plug wires from kragens and they were 5 mm and 7mm wires, a month after installed them both cars were missing under loads up hills and such.

I went out one night to see what was goin on so i took a look at them in the dark and they were arcing like hell on everything I fixed one of them temporarly but the damn V8 just has to many wires to move around. Im gonna take them off and go back and throw them in there face then get some 8mm ones from napa.

Wouldn't the car cut when under partial load also? This car cuts under no load in neutral free revving. If its half throttle or less car runs to red line no issues. If you mat the gas though car cuts out horribly.

i have the same problem including if i hit the gas up to 50% it runs fine and shifts hard, but anthing above that it feels like the car just revs to where it would at full throttle but it doesnt have the same power only to 4 grand on the tach then the power drops off and starts cutting out a little wtf? i guess i should post this but i dont know how newbie to this not a newbie to driving lol this is my second motor so i swapped all the sensors from my old engine and its still doing it

alright read this carefully

Car will rev to red line in any gear and in neutral as long as you dont exceed 50% throttle.

Car will cut out in any gear including neutral if the throttle is pressed more than 50%.

New plug wires were put on with no change.

We checked grounding and all the ground seem to be fine. the motor has 6 points of ground now

Guess we will keep trying stuff.
