ok ok i 'll be less vauge. i have alot of timing chain noise. i did a lil research here and found that the upper timing chain guide is almost useless. so i took it out. the noise stoped there but i could hear more timing chain else where (lower) but i found a new noise about 2 weeks ago. sounded like it was in the cams. i took off the valve cover to check it out and it looked ok so i took out the upper timing chain guide. so tonight i took it out for a test drive and the noise from the cams got even louder. then i heard a pop then some banging with a severe loss of power. soo now its runnins awful and makes tons of noise. rattleing like a deisel. i want to pull the valve cover to see whats wrong but its to dark and cold and i'm prety pissed.

Well your tensioners were bad. Taking the upper cover/guide off didn't do anything but make it worse. You are suppose to chance you timing chain, guides, and tensioners every so often. Sorry about your motor. Yes, there is a 240 general section and No, this is not it.

If you just had it rebuilt and there was a warranty on the rebuild, check that out. I'd think that servicing the chain would be part of a good rebuild.

No worries, a friend engine just means you can get a better (lower miles/faster) one... heh...

I'm not the one using profanity and no being a wise(I'll put in the word bottom) you are being a pain because your stuff broke and you are trying to take it out on someone. What are we suppose to say other than sorry that your motor quit. I don't see you thanking people for their support. Your title was very vauge. I was saying, you might get more of a response in the 240 section seeing that its a 240 motor and the common timing chain tensioner problem. Some people don't like to see 240 problems in the Nico general chat, that why there is a general chat in the 240 section. You might be able to find a good motor in the junkyard or a local selling after swapping a motor for a decent price or a fraction of a new rebuild if the warranty doesn't work out.

Well i wouldnt tell the people who built the engine that you removed or tampered with anything. They may void your warranty

Hopefully your warranty will cover it. You probably shouldn't have touched it since it was under warranty. That may prove to work against you. Try to leave that out if you can.

jeez man the last thing i need is someone bustin my but about where i put a post. i just thought i could get a faster responce in general chat. if its such a problem to you why don't you get the moderators to move it . i don't see anyone else complaining. i'm not blaming anyone i'm just trying to get an idea abou what happend and what i should do about it.

Sounds like a steal for a timing chain job. Are they also replacing the chains, guides, and tensioners? If so, go for it before they change their minds.
