I know the easiest motor to put in a datsun is a ka from a truck.

My question is this, will ka block from an Altima be the same block? Found a cheap motor and i can scrap all the other parts and build the block up.

Dont want to drop the coin if it wont be worth it, Ill just keep looking for a ka out of a truck.

My understanding has been that the difference in the cars vs trucks is the oil pan. If the block is the same, ill just buy a new pan and build the rest of the block up over time.

Seeing as the altima KA's dont see much 240sx love, I doubt this is plausible.

The block itself should be. There are differences in trans and oil pickup placement, for sure, but those can be fixed. The only thing I'd really be concerned about is the engine mount locations... Those could be different.

thats my concern too. My Altima has side mounts at the middle of the engine, not on the sides like our Z motors.

I hadnt read anyone using a KA from an Altima so I figured it wouldnt be easy to use.

Finally found a Ka block out of a truck but they want $795 bucks for it. Holding out for a private seller.

Plus, I found an 85 Nissan at a house that appears to be abaondoned. Neighbors say the truck hasnt moved in years. If I can score it from the city for super cheap, I want to do a frankemotor on the Z24 and have my Z22 has a backup.
