Lol yes, 89 up the trannies are the same on the ka + flywheel and clutch i have a 90 transmission on my 95 ka24de... the sr and DE trannies are almost identical anyways besides the way they are casted on the outside.

the trannies are the same except for the bellhousing. But the clutch/flywheel I believe is different...especially since these bolt to the motor, not the transmission.

rco8786 is right. All the S13 trannies are interchangable whether you're doing SOHC to DOHC or AT to MT. It doesn't matter. For KA to SR, the flywheels are different as well as the clutch. The clutch for the SR can be used from the Maxima, not the KA. The KA's bellhousings are different from the SR's, the internals are the same (exception of s15 which has different internals and rest of the casing is slightly different as well).

No the flywheel and cluth WILL NOT work on an sr motor. The only part that is interchangeable is the transmission internals. The transmission bellhousing is different between the 2 as well.

To recap the old posts, one of which I started... In order to get the KA transmission to mate up to the SR, you need to use the SR bellhousing.

With regards to your specific question, the KA clutch and flywheel will not bolt onto an SR20DET.

OK im sorry I brought this up again but i wasnt clear by the end of the post on a few things.

IF I wanted to put a SR transmission on a KA24E sohc. Could I just refab some bellhousing placements and then take the clutch/flywheel from the KA and use it on the SR transmission? Or could I use the KA flywheel with the SR clutch?

Basically what would be needed to put a SR transmission on a KA really? Thanks for answering this post hehe.

why do you want a SR transmission (5sp) on a KA anyway? It's not some stupendous upgrade. They're pretty much the same thing.
