I raced a wrx and killed it with a very small turbo on my car. But I contribute the win to the fact that my car weight is about 1200 lb less than his.

As weird as this may sound, i've had the best launches at 4-5,000 RPM drop-clutches while NA. You'd burn some rubber sure, but when all is said and done you haven't bogged and 1st is over quickly. Just make sure to feather the gas somewhat at first, then you can go straight into 2nd at redline.

Now, with KA-T at 6 PSI and a lightened flywheel, i've had the most luck with feathered 2,500 RPM launches. You just get PULLED forward. Seems to take advantage of the KA's torque and spools the turbo before you start moving.

Wow, aren't we clever?

But really, hopefully you know what i'm trying to say. So why not re-read my post and if you've got an issue with it, tell me.

And perhaps tell me where I said torque spools turbos?

HP is the fictional number from (torque x rpm)/5252, not the other way around.

i try to launch above idle...........................

in reality, 3500rpm at about 10 psi was good depending on the track conditions and tire conditions.

Soon to be launching at 15psi(2step) on some slicks. Current tried 2500rpms and car bogged and almost died. Tried 3000rpms and car sp-un like a batoutofhell. So goign to upgrade tires first. Then get lsd, then 2step, then some drag slicks

The ka24de S13 ecu can be set up for launch/flatshift control, with a few small modifications.

Rev limit as well as a seperate fueling characteristics for this launch state can be configured without any external equipment.

By taking over control of the ecu's orginal gear dependent settings.

The high gear (5th) circuit is used, along with some code modifications.

You will need to fashion a switch on your clutch lever similar to that of the brake, to start.

Ask over at eccs.hybridka.com . This switch operated launch/flatshift is currently the option (not a bad one), but hopefully soon we will have launch limit dependent on VSS (vehicle speed sensor).
