i was told that you could use the KA alternator, Starter and Trans as direct bolt up items. Only thing the trans wouldn't be as strong as an SR20's

Starter no, transmission no, KA24DE alternator yes if you swap the pulley off an SR alternator. May not need to swap the pulley.

you can use a KA24de starter if you swap the mounting section with the SR starter, and with a bellhousing swap you can use the KA transmission which is no weaker than the SR transmission. neither are a direct bolt on but it can be done.

mouting section was refering to the starter.

KA24DE alternator only and possibley your SR pulley. Im sure when its in front of you it will be pretty obvious what needs to be done.

i bought an alternator for a 91 sentra se-r -by switching the front case and bearing from the original sr alternator onto the se-r alternator, it worked fine. A little more involved, but not too bad

I jus did the swap from a ka24de alt to sr alt.All i did was have the pully removed from sr alt to the de alt.THen u have to drill out the top hole.If u notice on the de alt it has threads and sr it dosent. As far a fitmint all waS great.

i just did mine and besides drilling the top hole, and swaping the pulley i had to use a washer between the pulley and the alternator. it works great.

ka24de works fine but u have to modify it abit. for ka24e u cant used it because its from a single cam engine. when u put it on the alternator would be overloaded and the battery would bust. sr20det is twin cams.

WTF does DOHC and SOHC have to do with altenator output? I could have 20000000000000000000000 cams and the pullys would still turn the same to make the altenator charge.

Also the SOHC starter is a direct swap for the SR starter all you have to do is switch ou the heads which is 4 bolts and they should only be hand tight or you will strip the aluminum head from the SR.

Also KA and SR trans internals are the same.
