So, I'm new to the forum guess I'd better introduce myself first.  My name's Matt I have a 69 521 that I'm doing a load of work on.  Currently underway is a full 240 drivetrain swap, motor, tranny, IRS, IFS w/ rack and pinion.  Well here are some pics of my process thus far.

Nice ride!
the only way to get multiple pics in a post is to host them elsewhere like photobucket or similar site and then use the button to link to pics...
Like the IRS...
more pics please!

Matt welcome. Looks like a major project but look forward to the build pics. Did your 521 come with a J or L motor stock?

L...  The almight massive 1.3L 67 hp.  They probably figure that as crank hp too.

If it's the 1.3 it would be the J 13 motor. I only mention this because the motor mounts are closer to the front of the engine bay & will probably be way off & wont line up to the KA block. But...with a welder & grinder that can all be fixed :D

if I remember right, the J series mounts actually bolt to the frame.  The L series are welded on.

I don't know why I said L.  I knew it was a J, but either way its getting the sx's subframe so it will have rack and pinion.  I plan on removing the mounts either way.  I can't wait to getr started on the rear frame!

I got almost all the rear frame welded.  I just meed to fabricate some mounts for the rear end and the mounts for the bags.  I'll post more pics when I get batteries for my digi!

Wowzers! What a great build! This is having some amazing potential, love the subframe work, and your body looks really straight so it will be icing on this cake!:D

We'll see.  The bed is a little rough.  Plus I still need to shorten the rear axles 3 inches...
