Hey everyone. Just thought I tell you guys about the K&N intake I just installed.

First off, this cost me $289CDN and the guy at Nissan ordered for me and gave me a deal. I know, some of you may say get Injen for cheaper or whatever but honestly, I cannot find it. Being in Canada, I would have to contend with shipping, duties and taxes (if I were to do it the right and simple way).

Installed the kit in about 30-45min. Took a little longer because (#1) was suppose to remove a bolt from the throttle body to install a bracket to hold the intake tube. This was a b***h to remove and ended up skipping this step. (#2) was not familiar with my car yet so took it slowly. -- BTW, the bracket I skipped is no big deal. Everything was in place firmly without this bracket.

Results? Definitely sounds good at any speed and rpm but especially uphill streets and beyond 3000rpm. Power increase? Can't tell but I'd like to think so because technically, there is an increase. Whether it be the 9HP that K&N advertises or a lot less, there should be some improvement. I understand that the car needs a little time to adjust to this mod so I will see what happens in a week. If there is something significant to write about, I'll update this post.

One more thing: I like the fact that K&N tries to utilize the oem air ducts and that it comes with a heat shield. Also will help with water splashing from underneath. After all, I am on the Canadian west coast where it always rains.

Thanks for reading! :inoutgay:

The heat shield fits very nicely just under the Racingline strut bar.

I don't know how the Injen sounds but the K&N sounds pretty darn good. Gives the engine (or exhaust, not sure where the sound is coming from) a nice low growl. I don't have to floor it just some steady pressure on the gas and it growls. Definitely a difference from stock. Even when the windows are closed, the sound is noticeable. I have the CVT so when I put it in manual mode, I can control the rpm and it is a good sound. I'm hoping the ypipe will further improve the aggressiveness (sound wise). I really like it :naughty:

I have the K&N Typhoon intake as well and love it! Imo it's better than the Fujita intake that i had.

What about the K&N you think is better then the Fujita? I've never used anything else so that's why i ask. The Injen seems to be very popular too. Any thoughts on that compared to the K&N?

Yes imo, the K&N is much better than the Fujita. The design alone speaks for itself. :bigthumb:

the noise from the K&N intake is low "rumble" sound. once you hit the 3k rpm. the sound kick in nicely.

That insulated wall is the one thing that makes me want it.

Dont worry about the bracket off the throttle body. I actually stripped that screw during install and didnt do it either. Been on for 6 months and no problems. Just give it a quick inspection and shake every once in a while to make sure everything is still in place and sealed.
