I picked the car up today, and I like this intake. It is a lil quieter than the Fujita I had, but a lil louder than stock. My car peaked at 250fwhp around 6300rpms. The TQ feels like it increased over the fujita as well. I dont have the TQ numbers from the dyno, I left them a voicemail asking for that info. It will be approximately 6 weeks after all the test fittings with the other cars are done before its released to the public. here are some pics so far

hmm...they didnt use the stock airflow tube to direct fresh air to the filter like with the 2.5....weird.

Isn't that design going to run into the same problem that the early Fujita's had, where the sensor rubs the hood liner?

Injen had the problem with the MAF wires sometimes rubbing, but that depended on if the install was done correctly.

K&N does use the stock inlet to bring air into the filter on the 3.5s too

I havent talked to him in awhile. I think after his accident, he doesnt really run his car that hard anymore. That Z had just about every bolt on, I wont be able to catch him yet. When i first met him, my car was about dead even with him, then he did the headers and suddenly that car came alive

I just took some sound clips of the K&N today, I did a sound vid of the Fujita about 2 weeks ago. I have to go home later and edit them out to get rid of the dead space between. Ill post them up after Im done.

Its actually the top piece of the AIT C/F front grill you see.

Hey guys - just noticed this thread:

Anyone have dyno figures comparing this K&N intake to the AEM boxed intake?

Looking at the pics of the production K&N model, it looks like the cold air tubing from the fender to the short ram is a little more restrictive on the K&N, and the mass air flow sensor is outside of the heatshield/facing the hood. On the other hand it looks like the the cold air blows more directly on the air filter, so you might get more of a ram air effect when compared to the AEM.

If they're within 10% then I'd probably go with the AEM (sorry, I'm a sedan guy); if anyone has some head to head numbers that would be interesting to see.
