Just an FYI for those who dont know. K/N had my car prototyping their new intake for the 07+ 3.5s. after the prototype is complete, they may need 2 more cars to test the power gains on for a comparison. But since the CVT transmission is so hard to dyno, they will most likely want a car with a manual transmission. They are located in Riverside, CA so take that in mind on your drive. It will be about 2 months from now that the piece will be complete.

They will need at least 2 CVT 3.5s, and 2 other Manual 3.5s to test out fitment and power gains. those who participate will get a free intake out of the deal, and a rental car for the 3-5 days they will have your car. They are planning that within the next 1-2 months they will start the testing. Its first come, first serve. your car has to be as STOCK as possible. No exhaust (axle back is ok since they only add sound, not power), no power adders at all so they can have a good comparison for power gains. They are fully aware the CVT maybe a problem to dyno, but they still want it for testing.

Contact: Reayna at 951-826-4000 ext 4458Let her know Shawn referred you for the intake testing.

I would too if I wasn't in NY. This is the Intake I've been holding out for... I'm sure people will jump all over this though, K&N is the best!

You wont be able to get a hold of Ryeana, she's away for a few weeks on vacation. Ask the operator to transfer you to Kirk I believe. Dropping my car off today at 1pm, and they'll hold onto the altima for about a week.

oh and i'm cvt

give them a call, I thought I was to late and now I have a good possibility of getting this done. It can't hurt to call. All of us so far have CVT's so they probably want some 6 speeds so they can get a more accurate dyno reading.

oops sorry, well then there are 2 cvt's and 1 6er. so they will probably want another 6er. Just keep calling untill they put you threw to someone. Otherwise they will just keep transfering you to voicmails and you will never get a call back. I left like 6 messages before I talked to Kirk.

ohhh hahah that's probably why it was so easy for me. At first they were "hmm Kirk..??" and then I got transferred to him right away.

Glad I could help. I cant wait for this to be done. the sooner they have their test cars in, the sooner the finished product will be available. They originally were just gonna use cars from the dealer, but I told her I could get cars that were owned already that can get the info out much better than a dealer, so please...MAKE good use out of it

About 3 or 4 years ago I supplied my truck (01 Ranger) to K&N for a prototype 77 series intake. After all of the test fitting and dynoing they gave me a call about a month later to tell me they were done and I could come by to pick up my free intake.

Awesome experience with an awesome company.
