the K&N filter replaces your OEM filter in your OEM intake and the K&N intake replaces the whole OEM intake system, along with the OEM filter making into a warm air intake.

I really dont see the benefit of getting that 300+ dollar K&N intake outside of it looking cool and sounding cool. To mee, adding the drop in filter is nearly the same performance wise, at a fraction of the cost. It keeps the filter completely sealed from warm air, and the air is brought in from the front of the car. I realize that the ram intake connects to the stock piping, but I would be willing to be that is more looks then function, as most of the air sucked in comes from around the cone filter then from the front of the car.

Just my opinion though.

It's like spending 300 on a front lip and getting it painted even though it doesn't quite improve aerodynamics or anything. It's all about aesthetics. The K&N intake not only looks better than just a stock intake, it also reduces air restriction to allow more airflow hence giving out around 6hp according to K&N's dyno.

Which we all know is BS, might give 1hp tops, but again its for aesthetics and sound.

I have to agree with bina - i feel the cars performance has slightly improved. It is a start to making the car better. I say the car is better with the intake than with out.

The drop in is not that big of a deal - I can barely feel anything with it in, save some quicker throttle. That's about it. MPG's are the same.
