Installed my K&N Typhoon today. One minor issue. My dumb *ss tried to take the lower throttle bottle screw out with a 3/16" allen instead of a 6mm, stripped it, and couldnt get it out at all. I did the rest of the install without mounting the pipe onto the support bracket. Seems pretty solid, think I should worry about it?

I don't/didn't have the K&N but from what I can tell, that little support bar doesn't look like it does too much. I mean, the tube is obviously supported by the throttle body on one end and by the heat shield and filter on the other. The heat shield is held in place by 3 or so mounts. It would probably be fine.

I'm sure there are fancier ways of getting that bolt out, but I would probably take a Dremel and cut a slot into the head of the bolt so i could take it out with a flat head screwdriver and replace it. Or you might be able to get a pair of vice grips on there sideways and take it out.

Yeah that was my initial thought, it basically just gives a tiny bit of support underneath. Ive been checking it every day just to make sure eveything is still connected and sturdy, so far so good.

Excellent idea with the Dremmel, good thing I just bought one. That screw would NOT budge. Got every other one to move but that one (I was that frustrated that I tried them all just to make sure I wasnt a complete idiot).

Thanks for the input.
