I think so. Its like $45-$50, only need to clean it once every 50k miles. The replacement filters are$10-$15 and would go through up to 4 or so in 50k miles.

Not hard to clean at all, just need to have a day where you don't drive it. To me then you have enough time for it to be cleaned and air dry.

I like to buy two, then I never have downtime on the car, and double the life of one!

I have used K&N and others and have never had down time. 200k+ miles

Spray the cleaner on. Let it soak for 5 minutes. Wash out the gunk. Shake out as much water as you can. Let it dry while you change the engine oil. Re-oil the filter. Install & drive.

You don't need to have the filter bone dry to apply the oil. You shouldn't be able to shake any more water out. You also don't need to let the oil dry.

It boils down to opinion really. Some think popping in a new paper filter for $5-$15 is a lot easier than spending the 10 minutes it takes to clean and apply oil to the K&N. I personnaly prefer the K&N because it'll last the lifetime of the car and saves in the long run.
