Are the K&N drop in air filters worthwhile? I have a new 08 and as you can probably see from my posts, I've got a lot of questions.

Might as well as the experts!

Thanks in advance.

IMO just save up for an intake kit. I hear for the 07+ that aem and fujita intakes are good choices.

Ya i know its not really what you asked but i would get short ram intakes expecaly since you can put two in the 07 and if you do decide to do this PLEASE get the fujita cold air intake system for the 07 Z i dont have an 07 mine is an 06. But i have seen it and it is amazing its so crazy really you should get it its insain.

Fujita makes very nice intakes, I run one on my tC and they make even that little 2.4L I4 sound like a throaty monster!

Welcome to nico. From my experience with K&N Type filters is that the oil in those filters affect the MAFS readings. I would stick to the oem filters or get a foam type filter that Greddy or HKS offers. Hope this answers your question

OC, just by replacing your oem paper filter with a K&N will give you no gain to speak of. The big advantage of the K&N is that it will last forever but needs to be cleaned every so often. They make a cleaning and re-oiling kit too. Make sure not to apply too much oil. You would be better off to invest in a twin CAI system. Even these dont add a lot of gain but improves the looks and sound. They also come with conical shaped re-useable filters.
