K&N Air Filter for 2007 G35x

Do you guys recommend going with K&N Air Filter ? Advance Auto parts has them for $56.99 and for two with a $40 discount off $100 comes to around $73.98 + taxes and free shipping. Do you recommend OEM air filters ?
I just bought my car last friday from the Manheim auction. There was a oil change reminder and the oil change seemed like it was past due. I just got mine done this afternoon at Sears with Valvoline SynPower Syntheic oil change for $44.99 + taxes which included the $10 coupon. Valvoline has a $10 rebate which makes it $34.99 + taxes.
I know recommended oil is Mobil1 5w-30 but I dont have any tools yet and have never done a oil change. I have a buddy of mine who does his all the time on his BMW's. Next oil change I will do it myself with my buddy and get Mobil in it.

I used to use them. Never had a problem with them. But, have switched back to paper due to hearing K&N doesnt filter as good. NAPA carries WIX brand ($5). I buy the silver cause it looks identical the NISSAN ($19).
Check the R2C filters. I'm leaning toward them. dry reusable filter.
Are you looking for better HP or MPG?
The MPG went down in our 05 Sedan with a K&N drop-in filter.

I just purchased 2 oil filters and one air filter at my local infiniti dealer for $36.00

K&N seem overpriced to me.

I change my air filter every 8 to 10k miles






Oil changes are easy to do. I'm about to do my 40th oil change in a couple of weeks

Thanks for the info. I will check the WIX or the R2C filters. I would like to get good gas mileage but I dont know if any particular brand of filter would help to improve it other than my driving habits :-). I have been using cruise control a lot and also setting the MPG display on the monitor to see how I am doing.

I have the R2C intake and LOVE IT!! The sound is just fantastic. The reason I went with R2C is they don't use oil coated filters, but they are still re-usable.
