I have a '92 Q and I just had a JWT TCU intalled a little over a week ago. The only problem I have with it is that the first to second gear shift gets progessively rougher as the engine approaches 3500 rpm in first gear. I mean between 3000 and 3500 rpm in first gear, the car literally feels like its going to jump out of its skin, because it shifts so hard and so rough into second gear. This only happens in first gear. But after 3500 rpm in first gear, the transmission shifts as smooth as butter. This is becoming a real pain in the arse, especially in stop and go traffic. I'm getting tired of looking at the tach all the time, and the last thing I want to do is damage my transmission. Maybe I need to get the JWT ECU, as well, I really don't know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to our club jack. I noticed you already posted the same thread in our tech section which is the proper area. In the future please do not double post as everything has it's place here.

just called JWT, they said it wasn't the chip and it must be the transmission, but I just got it serviced 3k miles ago with mobil 1 ATF, I also had the entire car serviced at T3 Atlanta a week ago. If anyone can help, please do, because I'm stumped.

Check the trans power cable. It may not be possible with the self test, so go to the dealer and have them do a consult check. This solved this same problem for me.
