got my care package last night and took 15 minutes and installed my JWT TCU.Wow when u punch it it is already in kick down , its like instantaneous no lag. it works really well with my trans/2,800 stall billit torque converter.

thres spin a bunch more on launch and it also seems to have cleared up the no kick down at 40mph or so.

weird though when using the trans to brake and drop the shifter down to 1 the tcu does not allow the trans to go to 1 seems to stop at 2nd.

really fun - been looking for one for about 8 years now

need to have your foot to the floor.

so whats the difference between the stock 93-96 tcu and the JWT tcu?

The JWT trimode is the real winner vs just their simple version of 1st gear start.................stock, low pressure 1st, high pressure 1st.

However nothing can fix a mechanically worn abused old [4 years+] transmission.

so would there be a possibility that Wes could fiddle around with TCU's to make them with that many options or is that like a whole other ball game?

My jwt tcu does the same, won't go to 1st. When I got my ipt trans the big difference was the 3200 stall. Hard to get used to. The most extreme was the trans downshifting to first. With the 90 trans the gearing is so low it jerks your head downshifting! Not to mention my neck hurts from regular shifting too! The trans is the best mod by far.

That doesn't sound too good for an every day driver.

What's the ATF temperature? How's the fuel mileage affected?

You're right, not a daily driver. I'm not running a temp gauge.Fuel mileage? not sure, seems pretty bad. I'll have to check.Running the cam II is costing me! But wow it is nice.

Well you better enjoy it while it's that cheap. Before long we'll be paying 7 bucks a gallon for 87.

Glad to hear it! Is there anything possibly left to do to your car that you haven't already done yet?

I would love to dive into the TCU, any of you with a JWT TCU up for cracking open the case and snapping a few nice closeup pics of any hardware that's been modified in there? I'm curious if it's just software changes or hardware.

If we can crack the code that will open up a whole new source of fun to go along with the NICO ECU's. Feed me any info you guys have or can find and I'll get hacking!
