Would it be worth it to run an e-manage and a jwt ecu. just wondering. Also wanted to know a good place to get a jwt ecu. Are they only sold through jim wolf technologies since they program them?

i wouldnt spend the extra money on an emanage. if u want a piggyback on the jwt get a safc cheap somewhere. it would probably be worth it seeing how many jwt ecu's run rich. i have yet to find my air/fuel ratio, didnt stop me from hitting 9psi on it the other day a couple times. i know i shoudnt hav ebut i couldnt help it

http://www.jgycustoms.com its probably a shade faster than going through JWT since they have to keep JGY happy, AND its 100 bucks cheaper. Oh, and its not worth it to piggy back the e-manage with it ;)

In his best Beavis voice...

Yeah, yeah!! More boost, more pressure... fire, fire!!

i've been tossing around the idea of using a jwt ecu for an n/a high compression setup then later adding the emanage for 6 psi.

You are gonna have to. At 6 psi with a NA program, you are gonna have to richen it up alot and pull some timing out.

y not jsut get a retune of the jwt than spend the $500 on the emanage and extra harnesses to do the same thing the ecu will?

because i'm going to be running n/a for awhile anyways.

i'm afraid jwt is going to tune way too conservatively because of the high compression. they're n/a program is top notch, and would give me a much better starting point than if i told them to do a high compression turbo setup. the emanage would also give me more room to expand and better control if later i decide to turn up the boost a little.

very true i forgot you were going for the high comp w/boost setup

I would ditch JWT and go Emanage from the start.

if the emanage could help with throttle response yeah. There are clear advantages of having a Jim Wolf ecu but timing is an important. You are worried about Jim Wolf running conservative maps for you but you forget to realize that a NA program is not retarding timing. Any time you increase the compression of a motor, you are putting it into more risk of detonation(especially a high compression turbo car with a NA tuned ecu).If you are so concerned about this, drive down to Florida and have Secret Services dyno tune and program your ecu. They do S13 ecu's now and prolly wil cost alot cheaper than Jim Wolf.Secret Services NA tuned s13 ecu link on freshalloy

along with the other qwircks the jwt ecu gives, no timing (or very little) retard is exactly what i want from the ecu. i want to be able to control it myself via emanage. timing is important, but if i have to rely on timing alone to keep from detonating, then i'm in trouble from the start. it might be overkill to run both, but a retuned ecu has other benefits that the emanage won't give and vice versa.

secret services is one of the best tuning shops around, but there's no way it'll be cheaper for me to go down to florida and have them tune my car in house. i'm not ruling out using their off the shelf n/a ECUs though.

i could easily get jwt or secret services to tune my car, but what fun is that? i want to do this myself.

I dunno in the end I decided it was more fun to plug it in than to rebuild the engine when it blows. that was just my decision though.
