hi guys!i've read a few of you have this installed in your g35's. i've had my 2004 g35 coupe about 2 months now and came across a web site with this item.1- does it really add about 6.5hp extra?2- if it does, can you 'notice the difference?3- will it void any warranty with infiniti?

thanks alot guys!

There is really no noticeable difference. The 6.5 hp gain, is not to the wheels, so it may be an extra 2 hp at the rear. It does have a nice sound to it though. If you go with the popcharger, I suggest also getting the z-tube. That makes a real nice growl over 3500. And may add another 1 or 2 at the wheels. All in all, it's hard to feel a 3 or 4 hp. The sound is nice though. It is a cheap way to start modding the car and very easy to install. I don't believe that there are any warranty issues involved. I have had my car into the dealer for routine oil changes and maintenance and they have never mentioned it to me. I say go for it and enjoy.

Let us know what you think. It is very easy and quick to install. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the sound. I seriously doubt you'll really be able to tell a difference in performance, but I think that's basically the same as with any CAI you install. Anything less than 10 hp is going to be hard to tell.

Because the HP only occurs at the highest [redline limit] and declines as the revs decrease.

Actually, the pop charger is good for 6.5hp at the rear wheels. This is from JWT's website:

Injen CAI's have seen even better gains on the dyno as well. They're a little more risky than the JWT or Stillen intakes if you live in a wet climate, but they do gain a good deal more power.

I have the JWT popcharger on my 350z. It sounds real good and the throttle responses is better.

I found some info that said the popcharger is better than the CAI.

I'm not 100% sure about the G35 but the 350z stock air box is placed perfect in the car. The front end is made to flow air between the front bumper and frame. which goes to the OEM air box. Since the Popcharger mounts right there it gets better air flow than the CAI which is behind the radiator support. It's kind of hard to explain.

Can you tell the difference? well I ran a 9.0 1/8 stock.I went to the same track after the intake and my best was a lousy 9.2 with big traction problems. I also only made 3 runs over a 6 hour time so I couldn't dial in anything. So I'm going to go back on a test and tune night (where I can get in about 10 passes) and try again. I want to get a 8.xxx.If you want your car to sound mean then it's worth it. IMO

I got mine through Pinnacle at a great price! Shipping was fast as well.Click on the link in my sig for their site.

I must say I am a bit surprised by those dyno charts. I really didn't expect to see such a big increase from a CAI considering how good the stock one is. Thanks for the posts Justin, great info to have.

Let me tell you the story behind the 6.5 hp dyno. This was done with Mossy Performance's Z, with NissanPerformanceMag.com. I took the car down to JWT on a Monday to dyno it baseline. We then installed the popcharger and re-dyno'd it. 6.5 WHP imrovement, very nice. I took the car back to the dealership and on Tuesday my guy installed an AEM CAI. Wednesday AM I drove back down to JWT and the car dyno'd again at right around the baseline. WTF? So I said different day, different this blah blah, so we re-installed the popcharger and the dyno went back up 6.5 WHP. OK, I'm satisfied. BTW, when we dyno'd the Injen back in 2002, it produced a whopping 1.5 whp if we were to be gracious about it.
