Hello everyone. My 1990 TT 5spd is currently down with a bad oil seal in the left side turbo. So, what better time to upgrade right?

I'm looking for suggestions and comments based on experience on which turbo "kit" to purchase and from which vendor.

A little history on my Z32...

I purchased it used in 2007 and it already was equipped with a JWT ecu w/ 14psi boost jets, a single pop charger, and a Stillen cat-back exhaust. Everything else is in stock form.

and for my "goals"...
I would like to get the most power out of the engine without opening it up. (no cam upgrades, valve jobs, head/intake porting, etc...). I'm open to installing lighter pulleys and bigger throttle bodies though.

I thank you in advance for your input.

Take a look at my engine work at the end of my build thread, much like the other fellow posting about engine work I definitely recommend the route I went as the results have been excellent at this point, and will get better with a little tweaking. If just engine work (I did smics and clutch/pp/internals, other small maintenance as well) you should come in at 10 grand or less if you can do it yourself, and be down for FAR less time than a full standard build.

Oh, and JWT or Z1...how about both? Z1 handles many different turbos including the 500's, 520's and 530's...and more. Honestly I think that nearly all of the vendors handle JWT, which is a tried and trusted unit.
I myself purchased used JWT 530bb's from thankfully a reliable source, and so at the cost of replacement stock turbos I got the 530's and DP's...that's what I'd do all over again!

I enjoyed your build thread. You definitely went to hell and back.

I ended up coming across a used pair of Z1 GT525's and PE 850cc injectors for a great price this past weekend. I already have DP's, need to get SMIC's still though. The process has officially begun, I can't wait.
