You see I bought a set of Tomei 740cc injectors for my KA ( thinking to the future mind you). Well Jwt said they never tuned that actual injector , so Ben told me to send "one" injector up with my ecu to flow test it to make a perfect fuel map. Turns out the Tomei 740cc injector actually flows 750cc+. Good thing thing they tested it or I'd have one rich running KA. "No problem" Ben said , "we'll have it tuned for you in about 4 to 6 weeks because we're a little busy". No big deal. I can wait. Problem is that was June 9. I call every two weeks and get the same answer '' we'll get right on it , priority #1 , it'll be done by next week" I still haven't got my ecu back yet.
We just got back a customers ECU that was tuned for 740's?
Typically all injectors are within a range, not all 740 injectors (regardless of make) flow 740, you'll have some that are 750, some that are 730, etc. This is why more expensive engine management such as the Motec M600 have individual fuel trims per cylinder.
Basically if your car calls for anything larger than a 740 or 72# injector you need full engine management, this is plain and simple. The level of tune required for that high of cylinder pressures to prevent detonation at the same time producing peak numbers is more than JWT can offer. Like I said before... as long as what you are building is within the norm (ie. 370 - 740, Z MAF, etc.) then you can easily run a JWT ECU, but anything exotic (ie. 850 - 1000cc injectors, MAP, etc. ) obviously needs more than the JWT can do.
