Ok Iv'e had this setup for 3 and a half years and have always had hesitation issues. Iv'e got a redtop s13 5spd. Im using my 96 ka 5sp ecu retuned by JWT with the 96 ka harness. Iv'e got the two plug TPS sensor used on the auto ka I believe. I cant remember if the auto and manual ka tps are both two plugs. I thought the auto have two plugs and the manuals have one plug. I know this is true for the sr. Someone correct me please. The swap first was done in SoCal and thats what they used. I know the manual sr TPS has one plug. I think between the JWT and the actual sensors that there is something not talking to each other properly. I have to look but I think my maf is the stock dohc one also. Iv'e let this issue go for way too long and need to get the hesitaion fixed. It also hurts my gas mileage alot. I should have went with the sr ignition setup. I use the sr20de(se-r) distributor with the ka coil. They also rigged up my crank sensor which is off of the motor now. Any Ideas as to my situation would help. After three torturous yrs I just want my car to run right.

dude, not to sound mean, but if I were you I'd sell the ECU and Harness on Ebay and invest in 'real' SR stuff.

Beyond that I'd call Jimmy, they might have a new ROM program for the ECU that could help that out. I know my buddy was having similar issues with his KAT that a reprogram solved in a heartbeat. The 3 wire plug is the proper TPS plug, I think it's red white and black but I could be wrong (also the '96 is OBDII so it's probably different).

Knowing nothing aobut the setup, i cant be of much help.. but if you really want to solve the problem.. maybe MV is right.

Oh yeah by the way I drove my car to cali with the stock ka ecu and back again. Ran good just a little rich. JWT says it's not possible. Well......you should have seen the look on there face when I rolled up to they're shop with it in. They finally shut the hell up about that. Any more input or suggestions?

If you use the ka harness and the sr20de distributor and the stock ka coil you don thave to use the sr ign. setup.

Mojoman, i have the same setup as you except, i have an upgraded t3 turbo setup. It runs a little rich but its fine. Did the jwt ecu help alot? Was it worth the money? Also I think were the only 2 people who's sr20 s got rigged. But hey I was on budget and this guy in Miami said it can be done. Saved 400 + ecu price!:D
