Lately I've been looking into a way to increase performance in my I30t and I was looking at a Jim Wolf Technologies Engine Control Unit, however on his website he says that the ECU is for a VQ30DE, which i have, but lists it as only for a 96'. Before I call over there, does anyone know if this ECU would work in my 99'? Or if the ECU/Engine mapping changed between those years?

I am not too familiar with the 99 I30 but you most likely have a coded key like myself in my 99max. You can use a jwt ecu but you will have to do some extrra things. You will need to get a 95-96 ecu and send it to jwt for a reprogram and a 99 key program. They will end up bypassing your coded key. Your alarm will still work but the coded key wont work anymore. You will also have cel on because we have different emmisions crap. I have a jwt ecu in my car and definitley makes a power difffernce.

Damn i forgot about that, I had the same Issue when I went to get a remote starter, I didn't want to bypass my security by doing it. Thanks for the Info Max.
