What's hella lean? All JWT Ecu's I've ever dealt with idle 13.8 - 14.8 at idle....right thwere they should.

same prob here, 55lb msds and a z32 maf. Really lean, we are talking 0.01 co and 150+ hydrocarbons. I get about 100 knocks in the 500-1000 rpm range and then goes up to 150.

i'm running an enthalpy ecu, thats the only difference

I've heard Enthalpy tunes more aggresively (leaner) than JWT. I use a JWT ecu and an SAFCII. I'd be sunk without it. I'm always playing with my fuel pressure and boost depending on my driving circumstances. I had my SAFCII unplugged a couple times and my car ran really rich without it. My ecu is tuned for my 740's and z32 maf, but I've also got cams and a wacky sc61 turbo. My advice is to get your JWT ecu and a wideband o2 gauge. Run it like that and monitor your afr. If you think it needs some adjusting then get the SAFCII.

(Oh and codyace, I recirced my bov, and my car is much happier now. And so am I! thanks for the advice)

But am I running so lean that I'm going to blow my motor?

It really depends on when you are running lean. Are you running lean under all driving conditions especially while in boost? Cars can idle at 16:1 without a problem but once it's in gear and under load you'll want it a little richer. I'd definitely invest in a widband gauge. They are a bit pricey but it will allow you to tune a little bit and give you peace of mind. Just for reference your afr's should be about like this. - Idle (and in vacuum)- 15:1 -14:1 In boost or 0hg- 13.5:1 WOT- 12:1If you aren't sure what your afr's are, I wouldn't boost it. I believe the immediate danger in running lean would involve burned pistons and valves.
