JWT ECU re-program with I/H/E already installed...how much HP increase?!?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Alright, I have a 3" cold air intake installed, hotshot headers, no cat, and 60mm tanabe exhaust on my car right now for "engine" modifications....any idea how much HP (wheel or flywheel) a reprogrammed ECU from JWT would add? Is there a difference between the ECU reprogram and a conventional "chip"? If I were to say, get cams a long while after I got the ECU reprogram, would I be able to ge the ECU "updated" for the more amounts of air exiting/entering the engine, or would this cost the same $600? Would I lose performance with the cams because the ECU was designed for just I/H/E? I want to know what exactly i should expect and get with a $600 ECU reprogram from JWT...BTW, is $600 the cheapest? For some reason I thought it was cheaper, like $400...if the new ECU doesn't add much HP with just I/H/E, then why do the Nico forums choose to add I/H/E and ECU according to how many posts I have had, assuming I/H/E and ECU is the logical performance progression.....? (heheh)Any answers would be greatly appreciated...

I put cams in before I had my ECU programed no problems. Then I installed a reprogramed JWT ecu.... I guess it good for 9 or 10 HP.... Id rather have a Stand alone !!!!

even a Greddy E manage would be sweet.....

9-10hp at the whels or flywheel? I meant if I put in cams AFTER my ECU programming, would the cams work optimally? Is there anyway you can "tweak" the ECU for NOT $600 after the full programming of it? Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "stand alone"?

Stand alone management is a fuel system where you, the driver, program every aspect of fuel delivery throughout the rpm range... it's the best way to go if you're trying to make big power, but you would need dyno time to tune it. Mucho $$$ too.

I think you can have the ecu updated to accept new mods for somewhere around $100, anyone back this up?

Just to add moderate cams you will not need to retune your JWT ecu to accept your new cams.

The only thing you need to have the ECU retuned for is bigger MAF,injectors, or turbo...

Since the 240 uses a MAF to meter the air, it will account for changes in Volumetric Efficiency. JWT will give you an ECU with maps that are just optimized for better fuel. They don't sell a separate program for each mod you do. There are too many variables to do this. They can do it, but it would need to be tuned on a dyno.

What about his question on pricing? I too thought I saw it somewhere for $400. Now I can only find it for $600

What about this: http://www.technosquareinc.com/nissan.htm

It's 295$ for the complete system to chip your ECU, then you just bring it to the Dyno and tune like you would with standalone.

Well, for the KA24E is't 295$! :) It does FUEL,IGNITION,REV LIMITER,SPEED CUT.

will this also work with an auto or do you need a whole other chip?

I talked with JWT earlier in the year. $600 is a lot but it sounds like you get a good quality reprogram. Then at any time you need more reprogramming it is indeed just $100 more and they'll tune in whatever you've added. I'm currently debating doing that now and then reprogramming again with an engine buildup.
