Whats "stage three"? Whats the red wire and switch? How does this compare to the Nico ECU? My JWT does not have a red wire?

No Idea on Stage 3, possibly confused with the NICO ECU program.

The redwire and the switch is to switch programs, I assume he has "Stage 3" and stock.

They say the NICO ECU is better (More powerful, More customizable and safer), I have niether so I can be of little help.

Robert looked at the mappings of the varioius OEM, JWT, Impul, but not the Dinan ECUs and with the aid of exhaust gas analysis chose his mappings. JWT and NICO very close in their mappings. Engine condition would determine which one worked better. Neither is for an abused engine.

The TCU would be interesting for the owner of an early G50 with the higher numerical 1st and 2nd gears.

There was no "Stage III" to my knowledge, but there was a tri-mode TCU that has OEM, shift points with 2nd gear start, and two alternative JWT shift point mappings, one with 1st gear start. The main advantage is holding gear in rpms higher in accordance with the elevated JWT and NICO redlines.

All ecu reprograms are only as good as the fuel* you can purchase, as with higher ignition advance the knock sensors are likely to just kick in earlier with more vigor.

* The octane numbers stuck on the pump by the brand marketing department are meaningless on a spot [daily] basis. All they tell you is that the highest is higher than the lowest because what is sample measured at refinery may change when mixed or with time delays in transit and blending/aging in your tank.

The E10 debacle has allowed the refineries to produce lower quality product with the deficit expected to be made up with Ethanol addition.........which may or may not occur at 10%.

Ethanol is 15 cents cheaper than it was June 1.http://www.commoditycharts.com...c=yes

Mode switcher for multimode TCUs. The photo in the auction is just JWT's stock photo used on their website. Looks like the seller just hurriedly snagged the picture without paying attention to what it's a picture of.
