Well the time is drawing closer that i purchase my Fmax kit. now if anyone lives in Arizona they know how horrible we are set up for shops. there are no shops in the state that could tune their way out of a paper bag. so im on my own.

with a JWT ecu set up for the 370cc's that comes with a fmax kit how much, if any, standalone tuning would be needed? (8psi max probably, gonna be a daily driver, need reliability)

Thanks,

JWT is plug-and-play...no tuning required, and you couldn't do it anyway. They solder on a daughterboard with a chip socket, burn you a chip, and send it out. Unless you have the software and hardware to interpret/burn a 1meg, 40-pin ROM chip, then you can't tune a JWT ECU...

All you could do is back timing off by a couple degrees.

i didnt specifically mean the ECU but using a standalone like a SAFC to fine tune anything (if necessary)

thats if it was needed. i know tuning is ESSIENTAL for boost but didnt know how well a JWT ecu was set up for it.

thanks

Actually a stock ECU isn't tuned too badly for boost. The injectors just max out too soon. I'm running a stock ECU with an E-Manage. The only tuning with the E-Manage is to compensate for the 370 cc injectors. The timing may be a bit high, but it's possible the timing is bumped up since the ECU thinks the airflow is lower.

Orion's set up has a similar effect. Fool the ECU. I believe he is running a stock ECU...Orion?

IIRC, stock ECU with hacked MAF and no piggyback

kamin- u said SAFC is a stand alone? its a piggy back system so u dont get confused. a standalone would completley replace the stock ecu

I should be in AZ this December...shoot me an email. I'll have my own shop setup by spring, but I'll be able to do some custom installs and tuning without a full shop.

I don't mean to advertise, but my company now sells F-Max kits for $3,240.00 versus the $3,799.00 retail price. Just wanted to throw that out there for those of you who might consider looking for a decent kit at a decent price. Only reason I even thought of it was because Kamin mentioned F-Max in his post. With us, you save about $560; that's pretty substantial savings.John

3240 including 370CC injectors and a JWT ecu?

because alot of people sell the "stage 1" without injectors and a JWT for about 3500$

I'll get all the specs, and EXACTLY what is included in the kit posted up here for those who are interested. I just became a dealer of the F-Max kits, so I've not yet sold one of them. I just got my pricing sheet and started working the numbers. It will be tomorrow before I can get the physical specs, though, since they are closed for today. John

I don't know of any dealers who included a JWT ECU with there package...or injectors for that matter. If I end up with orders to AZ then I'll be living in Tuscon. My kits will be right around 2500 with fuel management included, not just an FMU by the way.

John, thats a pretty good deal for the Fmax kit. Sounds like my closest competition so far. Are you guys specificly going after the 240 or are you hitting a wide range of cars??
