Just bought a 91 tt z off ebay (link at bottom), and the only things i was informed of over the phone that werent stock on the car were the "mufflers" and the front bumper. But upon talking to the mechanic at the dealership he said the car was running 12.5 lbs of boost which is higher than stock and also i believe what the jimwolf chip raises it to. I know there are ways to raise the boost without the chip but i was wondering, before i go out and buy the jim wolf chip, how can i tell if the car has or doesnt have the chip already installed?

and let me know what ya think of the car ....

Welcome to NICO and welcome to the Z community!

As for the chip, just open up the ECU and take a look. If you like I can get you more info on how to do that if you are unsure of where/how to get it done.

And as for chips, for a quality one they will range from ($300 for a Z1 chip to $600 for a JWT chip)

Yeah if you had anything to help me out with the installation of this that would be great. I just bought the stage 3 upgrade from ultimate z with the hks hiper exhaust and im hopin to notice a big difference from it. I was going to upgrade to the carbon ti but i didnt think there would be any signifigant performance gain and just because it looks cool wasnt worth it enough for me to cough up another 600.
